Clean from the Ground Up.
We don’t just say we’re sustainable. We prove it. Every pair of La Coochie underwear is independently certified, ethically made, and designed to be better for your body and the planet.

SUSTAINABLE ORGANIC COTTON, DESIGNED BETTER.
SUSTAINABLE ORGANIC COTTON, DESIGNED BETTER.
Conventional cotton is a chemical-intensive crop and it ends up directly against your skin. Our GOTS Certified Organic Cotton is grown and produced without pesticides, harmful fertilizers, or toxic dyes. It's better for your body, for the people making it & the earth around it.
Our organic cotton is certified under both GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 - two of the most rigorous global certifications in sustainable textiles. That means independently verified, not just self-reported.
We intentionally produce our organic cotton underwear in small batches to reduce overproduction and waste.
Instead of mass manufacturing, we make limited quantities and only restock based on real customer demand, purchase data, and direct community feedback. This helps prevent excess inventory from ending up in landfills which is a major issue in fast fashion.
Small batch production allows us to:
- Reduce textile waste
- Avoid unnecessary overstock
- Improve products based on real feedback
- Stay aligned with sustainable and responsible manufacturing practices
We believe sustainable fashion means making what’s actually wanted - not guessing and overproducing.
Together, we create less waste and better products.
Yes. All of our fabrics and trims are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, including our mesh, lace trim, elastics, and bra hardware. This certification means each material has been independently tested for harmful substances and verified to be safe for skin contact. It’s especially important for intimate apparel, where fabrics sit close to the most sensitive areas of your body.
It’s a fair question...and yes, any product made has an environmental footprint.
The difference is how it’s made, how much is made, and how long it’s designed to last.
We focus on:
- Small-batch production to avoid overstock and landfill waste
- Durable, high-quality organic cotton designed to last for years
- Plastic-free, biodegradable packaging
- Certified ethical and sustainable manufacturing
Fast fashion overproduces millions of units that never get worn. We produce intentionally, based on real demand, to reduce unnecessary waste.
The goal isn’t perfection. It’s responsibility.
We believe making fewer, better things and wearing them longer is a much more sustainable way forward.
Our sustainable organic cotton underwear is made with GOTS-certified organic cotton, the highest global standard for eco-friendly textiles.
That means:
✔️ No toxic pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or GMOs
✔️ Uses up to 91% less water than conventional cotton
✔️ Produces up to 46% less CO₂ emissions
✔️ Supports healthier soil and prevents erosion
GOTS certification also ensures ethical manufacturing, including:
✔️ No child labor
✔️ Safe working conditions
✔️ Fair wages and humane hours
When we say eco-friendly underwear, we mean it — better for your body, better for workers, and better for the planet.
Our underwear is made with GOTS-certified organic cotton, which supports soil health, water conservation, and reduced chemical runoff.
Conventional cotton farming relies heavily on synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. These chemicals often wash into nearby rivers and groundwater through runoff, harming ecosystems and wildlife.
Organic cotton is grown without those toxic inputs. Instead, it uses natural farming methods that:
- Protect soil from erosion
- Increase soil nutrient levels over time
- Reduce contaminated water runoff
- Support biodiversity and pollinators
- Conserve water compared to conventional cotton farming
Healthier soil absorbs water more efficiently, which reduces flooding, runoff pollution, and long-term land degradation.
By choosing organic cotton fabric, we’re investing in farming practices that restore the ground, not strip it.
Yes. From the moment your order ships to the second you open it, everything is plastic-free and biodegradable.
That includes:
- Shipping mailers
- Tissue paper
- Thank you cards
- Stickers
- Hang tags
No poly bags. No sneaky plastic. No landfill guilt. And it's still SO cute.
We use:
- FSC-certified paper (responsibly managed forests)
- Post-consumer recycled materials
- Soy-based inks whenever possible
Every detail is chosen to reduce waste and lower environmental impact.
Fast fashion relies heavily on plastic - both in fabrics and packaging. An estimated 85% of textiles end up in landfills.
Packaging may seem small, but it adds up quickly. We believe sustainable, plastic-free packaging is a simple but meaningful way to reduce waste and do better by the planet.
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) - covers the entire supply chain from raw fiber to finished product, including social criteria for workers
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 - independently tests every component of our fabric for harmful substances, including dyes, threads, and buttons
FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) - certifies that our paper packaging comes from responsibly managed forests
Underwear sits against one of the most sensitive areas of your body, so the materials used matter. Certifications help verify that fabrics are produced safely and responsibly.
At La Coochie, we use GOTS-certified organic cotton, which ensures the cotton is grown without toxic pesticides or GMOs and processed according to strict environmental and ethical standards. We also use OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified fabrics and trims, meaning every material has been independently tested for harmful substances and verified to be safe for skin contact.
Yes. Certification doesn’t stop at the fabric. Our organic cotton fabric is GOTS-certified, and all additional materials are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, including lace, mesh, elastics, and bra trims. This ensures that every component that touches your skin has been tested for harmful substances and meets strict safety standards.
