Editor's Favorite Organic Cotton Underwear: La Coochie
As a writer who often receives a lot of underwear & bra brands to review (seriously, you’d be shocked), I was particularly excited to get my hands on La Coochie's organic cotton underwear as I’ve been starting to hear the name thrown around by friends. So, I ordered some to see if they were really worth the hype.

From the moment I unwrapped the package, which included beautiful eco-freindly tissue paper & a personal handwritten note to each customer, I was impressed. I’ve never known just how or why anyone would FOLD underwear, but this presentation was immaculate. Think high end experience or underwear origami.
The first thing that struck me was the organic cotton fabric—super soft, lightweight, and incredibly breathable. It was clear from the get-go that La Coochie has put a lot of thought into both the feel and the functionality of their products.
The second thing was how pretty everything looked. I’m not one to treat myself to high end lingerie or underwear, but this brand gives the feeling of every day luxury, without the high-end prices.

Now, while the brand is known for and has gone viral for their high-rise styles, they do carry both mid-rise and high-rise options – so naturally, I had to try both.
I’ve always been wary about organic cotton underwear in the past as the majority of styles on the market are frumpier and feel less feminine than I prefer. I was pleasantly surprised by La Coochie’s styles as they seem to have brought the silhouettes into this era.
They have the perfect balance of sexy and modern while maintaining a timeless look. I was particularly excited about the high-cut leg design as it claims to elongate the legs, something I struggle with as a 5’4” individual. They didn’t disappoint - maybe it was wishful thinking, but I could swear the mid-rise thong added inches.
The lace detail adds a touch of femininity without compromising on comfort. I was a little concerned it would be itchy or rough as we have all had those experiences with lace underwear in our time, but yet another win from the brand – I could barely tell it was there. Soft, delicate & flexible.

The cuts are incredibly flattering, hugging your curves in all the right places without digging in or causing discomfort. So far, I’ve worn the thongs and briefs under jeans and a dress, and tested the high-rise boyshort lounging around at home… all making me forget I’m wearing them overall.

Obviously, since this is my first month with the styles, I can’t speak to this just yet, but after the first wash they held up incredibly well and stayed in shape.

My Favorite Styles
After wearing these consistently for the last few weeks, I can safely say that all of them are a serious upgrade to my underwear drawer, but a few certainly stood out the most.
The Boyshort
I wasn’t a huge boyshort fan before this, but La Coochie has changed my mind. This full coverage, high rise short is honestly so comfortable. I was in a pinch with a skirt the other day and they came in so handy to wear underneath without adding bulkiness or lines. Also a great staple for under a huge tee at home.
The High Rise Thong
I knew this would be a favorite given so many reviews on site indicating this is a must. Full disclaimer: my day to day outfit consists of high-rise jeans and high-rise shorts on a daily basis, but I’ve never worn a high-rise thong. My first endeavor was one that stuck and added a level of security over my tummy I didn’t know I wanted. The waistband is a call-out I have to make…whoever designed this magic has my business for life. It’s a minimal elastic band that somehow stays put after multiple washes, but never digs into your belly or sides. Most days, I’ve forgotten it’s there. While I only ordered the regular black style, I already have their other colors in cart.
So, there you have it. As a woman who thought underwear couldn’t be anything particularly special, I’ve been proven wrong.
